Mike Alsip Joins BGDC Distribution as Chief Financial Officer

Finance leader brings engineering foundation and global FP&A experience to growing contract logistics provider

FOREST PARK, GA – August 6, 2026 – BGDC Distribution, a full-service contract logistics provider with facilities in Forest Park (Atlanta), GA, Salem, VA, and St. Louis, MO, announced today the appointment of Mike Alsip as Chief Financial Officer.

Mike began his career as a mechanical engineer with Lexmark after earning a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Kentucky, before moving into project management at GE Appliances. While at GE, he earned his MBA from the University of Massachusetts and transitioned into Finance, where he held leadership roles and helped lead the financial reporting integration for the $5.6 billion sale of GE Appliances to Haier. In 2017, he joined Michelman and advanced to Vice President, building the global Financial Planning & Analysis team and overseeing Finance and Strategic Planning. As Chief Financial Officer, Mike will lead BGDC’s financial strategy and support the organization’s continued growth. His extensive experience in financial leadership, strategic planning, and business transformation will help drive strong financial performance and support key business initiatives. A career that began in mechanical engineering and moved through project management into finance gives Mike a practical view of how operational decisions translate into financial outcomes, a perspective that aligns closely with BGDC’s emphasis on disciplined process and measurable results.

Mike’s appointment reflects BGDC’s continued investment in its Process pillar, one of three strategic priorities the company uses to define its approach to contract logistics. As BGDC expands its customer base and capabilities, financial discipline and structured planning remain central to supporting growth without compromising the standards its clients rely on.

Mike and his wife, Brittany, have been married for 15 years and are proud parents to their daughter, Maddie. Mike and his family live in the Florence, Kentucky area. Outside of work, Mike enjoys University of Kentucky sports, automotive racing, travel, and community service, including volunteering in disaster response efforts.
