Joe Obermeier as New CEO to Accelerate Growth
in Supply Chain Logistics
We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Joe Obermeier as our new Chief Executive Officer.
Joe joins us from Gap Inc., where he served as Vice President of Inbound & Outbound Transportation for the past 2 ½ years. In this role, Joe led a global team, driving operational excellence and cost optimization across all transportation functions within Gap Inc.’s extensive Supply Chain Network. His responsibilities included overseeing the global consolidation and transport of products from factory handover to distribution centers, stores, and consumer delivery. Joe’s people-first and collaborative approach will be instrumental in building upon the foundation at BGDC.
Joe Obermeier’s proven track record of operational excellence and people-first leadership will propel BGDC Distribution to new heights in our mission to deliver best-in-class supply chain logistics solutions across the retail and consumer goods industries.
Before his tenure at Gap Inc., Joe spent 15 years at Kroger, where he established himself as an industry leader in supply chain, logistics, and procurement strategy. He managed operations in supply chain and manufacturing, overseeing more than 15,000 associates and team members across 40 distribution facilities. Joe holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Kentucky and resides in Northern Kentucky with his wife Lauren and sons FJ and Teddy.
Joe will provide the strategic vision, as well as the financial, and operational leadership for BGDC. As part of this change the following leaders will report into Joe.
