Established in 2022 by a group of visionary business leaders including Bill Foster, Greg Vick, Doug Studley and Chad Bowen, BGDC has rapidly emerged as a leader in the distribution and transportation industry, servicing the retail and grocery sectors. With our first two acquisitions, Atlas Logistics Retail Services Atlanta and Atlas Logistics Retail Services Roanoke, we set the stage for a journey marked by growth, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to our customers.
Our success story is rooted in over a century of collective experience in cold-chain logistics management. With warehouse locations strategically positioned in Atlanta, Georgia, and Roanoke, Virginia, and a workforce of roughly 2,000 dedicated associates, BGDC is committed to exceeding customer expectations. BGDC enters the St. Louis market in 2025, launching operations to support partners and expanding its footprint across the Midwest.
Early 2025Supply Chain Veteran Joe Obermeier Named CEO
BGDC welcomes Joe Obermeier as CEO, a supply chain veteran with leadership experience at Gap Inc. and Kroger. Joe's operational expertise and people-first approach will drive BGDC's continued growth and innovation in the 3PL industry.

Late 2023Operational Milestones
BGDC experiences significant growth, expanding its operations and workforce across facilities in Atlanta and Roanoke.
2023EXPANSION
BGDC establishes three new limited liability companies to fulfill contracts secured from a major retail grocery customer: BGDC Distribution Atlanta, BGDC Transportation Atlanta, and BGDC Roanoke.
Late 2022AQUISITIONS
BGDC makes its first two acquisitions, acquiring Atlas Logistics Retail Services Atlanta and Atlas Logistics Retail Services Roanoke.
